The camp was designed as a highly practical training experience for ambitious players rated 1400–1900, with the entire focus on the endgame.
First, Grandmaster Aleksander Goloshchapov independently analyzed the students’ games, selecting the most instructive endgame phase from each participant’s game. These endgames were then thoroughly discussed during the camp sessions, with special attention given to typical endgame patterns and practical decision-making.
The camp focused on developing a deeper understanding of endgame principles, helping players recognize critical moments when transitioning from the middlegame and apply correct endgame techniques in practice.
Special attention was given to common endgame mistakes at the 1400–1900 level and to systematic methods for avoiding them through better piece coordination, skillful pawn play and strategic thinking.
